GoFrogs: TCU Tames Mustangs, 1-0
DALLAS – TCU women's soccer endured a three-hour weather delay before earning a, 1-0, win over SMU at Washburne Stadium on Sunday night. Bella Diorio scored a goal in the 66th minute and Megan Plaschko earned a clean sheet making two saves in the process.
The Rundown
TCU came out of the gates firing shots on goal with three quality chances that forced the Mustang keeper into a trio of saves. The Frogs looked to have an early 1-0 lead on a Lauren Memoly goal, but video review determined the play was offsides, keeping the game scoreless.
The Frogs had another close call as Bella Diorio broke free of her defender off a great feed from Sara Brocious. Her shot from the top of the 18 clipped off the outside of the post.
TCU held a 9-1 shot advantage in the first and picked up four corners. Megan Plaschko was equal to the task on the only shot she face.
The Mustangs had the second half's first good scoring opportunity. In the 58th minute, the SMU forward took aim at the far post, but Plaschko was once against up to the challenge with a diving stop.
TCU finally cracked the scoreboard in the 66th minute. AJ Hennessey drew a foul just outside the 18. On the ensuing free kick, Diorio found the back of the net with a beautifully place shot inside the upper far post for a 1-0 lead that would stand up for the remainder of the contest.
Quote of the Game

Thoughts on the game
"Overall, I thought it was a really good performance for 90 minutes. We dominated the game and had chances in the first half but could not convert but in second half we scored off a free kick. Two games in a row where we played really well against some good opponents. We are ready to go Texas A&M but really good performance for us on the road. Really proud of our group."
