FORT WORTH – Behind a career-high 19 points by David Punch, the TCU men's basketball team snapped a three-game skid to beat Colorado, 68-57, Sunday afternoon at Schollmaier Arena.
The freshman from Harker Heights was 7-of-10 from the field, including 3-for-3 from 3-point range. All shots and attempts were career highs.
Colorado (9-12, 0-10) bolted out to an 8-0 advantage and led most of the first half. A Jace Posey 3-pointer gave TCU (11-10, 4-6) its first lead of the game, 26-24, with 4:20 to go in the half and capped an 8-0 scoring run. The run continued to 16-3 as the Horned Frogs led 34-27 at halftime.
The Buffaloes scored nine of the first 16 points of the second half to cut their deficit to four, 40-36. TCU answered with back-to-back buckets by the freshman, Posey. The Frog lead again went to four, 44-40, with 13:03 to play. TCU answered with a 3-pointer by another freshman, Isaiah Manning.
Later, TCU broke the game open with a 15-2 scoring run for its largest lead, 68-50. The 18-point margin came after Punch's third 3-pointer.
For the second-straight game, the Horned Frogs finished with eight turnovers. They forced the Buffaloes into 19 turnovers and scored 28 second chance points off the CU miscues.
Noah Reynolds and Vasean Allette each had six assists. Reynolds had 11 points to join Punch in double figures.
TCU will return to action Wednesday when it hosts West Virginia. Tip will be at 7 p.m. and air on ESPN+.
TEAM NOTES
- TCU improved to 3-2 all-time against Colorado and 2-1 in Fort Worth.
- Jamie Dixon's career record moved to 499-243 as a head coach.
- TCU improved to 10-2 at home this season.

- Punch had two blocked shots. It was the first time in eight games he had recorded a block.
- Noah Reynolds scored 11 points. It was his 12th game scoring in double figures.
- Reynolds tied for the team lead with six assists. It was the most he's had in nine games.
- Reynolds led the team with three assists. It was the seventh time this season he led the team in assists.
- Vasean Allette had a career-high six assists.
- Jace Posey scored nine points. It was the most he's scored since the season-opener when he had 11 against Florida A&M.
- Ernest Udeh Jr. had four steals. It was the third time this season he's had four or more steals.
- Udeh finished with a team-high seven rebounds. It was his ninth game this season leading the team in rebounding.
