PHILADELPHIA -- TCU linebacker Namdi Obiazor has been selected to the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award, presented to the nation's top defensive player.
Obiazor was All-Big 12 last season and Honorable-Mention Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, leading TCU with 84 tackles and 4.0 sacks. He placed second on the Horned Frogs with six quarterback hurries and third with 6.0 tackles for loss. He reached double figures in stops in two games while taking part in a TFL in six contests.
A senior from Eden Prairie, Minn., Obiazor has played in all 27 games the last two seasons with 133 tackles.
