Nuutinen Receives Top Honor
Graduated TCU women's golf standout was a three-time all-conference selection

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Women's golfer Sanna Nuutinen has been recognized as TCU's 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year.

The NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership. The NCAA encourages each member school to honor its top graduating female student-athletes each year by submitting their names for consideration for the Woman of the Year award.

Nuutinen, who earned her TCU degree in sports psychology, was a three-time all-conference selection. She earned the honor twice in the Mountain West and this season in the Big 12 when she posted a career-best 73.7 stroke average. Nuutinen was also a 2014 First Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.

Nuutinen won the 2012 Mountain West championship on a fourth-playoff hole. She ranks second in TCU history with seven sub-70 rounds. Her 75.0 stroke average is fourth, while she's sixth with 124 rounds played.

An Helsinki, Finland, native, Nuutinen closed her standout collegiate career by birding her final two holes at the NCAA Central Regional. It came one day after she carded a 67 for the Regional's low second-round score.
