Nuutinen Keys TCU at Big 12 Championship
TCU senior cards a 71 and is tied for 13th individually
AUSTIN, Texas -- TCU senior Sanna Nuutinen carded a 71 to lead the Horned Frogs in second-round play Saturday at the Big 12 Championship.
TCU, ninth in the team standings, shot a 306 for a 4-stroke improvement from Friday's opening round. No. 7 Oklahoma is at 583 for a 3-shot lead over Texas heading into Sunday's final round.
Nuutinen's 1-under-par day moved her into a tie for 13th individually. The Horned Frogs' lone senior, Nuutinen birdied three of her final eight holes and totaled a team-best five birdies on the day. She was 2 under on the back nine.
Maria Maymon and April McCoy both recorded 76s for TCU. McCoy birdied her opening hole. Maymon is tied for 26th, while McCoy is in a deadlock for 31st.
