GoFrogs: No. 6 Men's Tennis Takes Down Oklahoma 4-0

FORT WORTH – No. 6 TCU men's tennis (3-0) earned its spot in the 2021 Indoor National Championships with a 4-0 sweep over Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon inside the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs won all six completed matches in a strong showing against the Sooners. TCU remains undefeated in dual singles play, 11-0. Its best start to a season since 2008.

TCU is one of eight teams to earn a place at Indoor Nationals, in Champaign, Ill. next month (Feb. 12-14). It is the third consecutive year the Horned Frogs have qualified for the tournament, the second-longest streak in program history (nine straight from 1989-97). This is the 18th Indoor National appearance for TCU.

"Using coach Devin Bowen's words to the team 'the team played a full match today'," head coach David Roditi said. "OU has a lot of young talent, they are well coached, plus they were coming off a great win over Wake Forest. But our players were ready for it. I felt coach Bowen and coach Siddiqui did a great job to improve the doubles play from yesterday, and those doubles team played very well. That was a big point. Every team is dealing with issues this season, I thought our team and our medical staff spent a lot of time and energy in order for us to get through this regional and qualify for the elite 8 at national indoors in a few weeks. I want to thank all the tennis center staff, our "do it all" King Jonathan Pham, medical staff and everybody that has worked overtime so we get to battle and compete here at home. Now it is our job to continue to get better, get healthy, get stronger and see if we have a stronger team at nationals in mid-February. The best 8 teams will be there and we know that. Go Frogs!"

TCU has now won 12 consecutive dual matches dating back to last season. It has been 345 days since TCU's last defeat.
