ABOUT THE GAME
*No. 5 TCU will leave the state of Texas for the first time this season when it travels to Colorado State to open its sixth season in the Mountain West Conference.
*The Horned Frogs are 33-7 with a pair of conference championships (2005, 2009) in their first five seasons of MWC play.
*The trip to Fort Collins will mark the Frogs' only time to board a plane in the opening eight weeks of the season.
*Seven of TCU's opening eight games are in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Included in the total are five home contests, a road game at SMU in Dallas and a neutral-site meeting with Oregon State at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

THE WIN COLUMN
*TCU has a 17-game regular-season winning streak.
*The Frogs have won 18 of their last 19 overall contests and are 30-3 in their last 33 games.
*Nine of TCU's last 11 victories have been by at least 27 points. Ten of the 11 wins are by 17 points or more.

GOOD OMENS
*In the three seasons (2005, 2008, 2009) they won their MWC opener, the Frogs have posted a combined 23-1 league record.
*In the two years (2006, 2007) it dropped its MWC opener, TCU's combined league mark is 10-6.

ON THE ROAD
*TCU has won its last seven road games and 12 of the last 14. The Frogs are also 2-1 at neutral sites during that stretch.
*TCU's 34-14 record (.708) in road and neutral-site games since 2003 ranks in a tie for sixth nationally.

SERIES NOTES
*TCU has won its last six meetings with Colorado State and holds a 6-1 series lead.
*Since beginning Mountain West Conference play in 2005, the Frogs have won all five games with the Rams.
*TCU's first victory over Colorado State was a 17-3 decision in the 2002 Liberty Bowl. The Frogs, then members of Conference USA, defeated the Mountain West Conference champion Rams for Gary Patterson's first bowl win as a head coach.
*Colorado State's lone victory in the series came in the first meeting between the teams, a 42-21 Ram win in Fort Collins in 1998 when both teams were in the WAC.

NAIL BITERS IN COLORADO
*TCU's last two trips to the state of Colorado have seen the Frogs escape with a pair of victories by a combined total of just nine points. Both games were played in less-than-ideal weather conditions.
*TCU's last visit to Fort Collins in 2008, with a 39-degree temperature at kickoff, saw the Frogs post a 13-7 win.
*Last season, playing in an icy mist and freezing-cold temperatures, TCU recorded a 20-17 victory at Air Force.

FORT COLLINS DEBUTS
*TCU senior quarterback Andy Dalton, whose 33 wins lead the nation among active quarterbacks, will be playing his first game at Hughes Stadium.
*Dalton was injured and did not play in the 2008 contest at Colorado State.
