GoFrogs: TCU Unbeaten After Day One of Fight in the Fort

FORT WORTH – No. 4 TCU kicked off the Fight in the Fort with two wins on Friday – defeating FGCU 4-1 and No. 13 FIU 3-2.

The Horned Frogs extended their home winning streak to 47 with both wins. Individually, Luana Araco, Hallie Corinne Frist and Olivia Clines all collected their first ranked win in their careers against FIU.

QUICK HITS AGAINST FGCU
Anete Namike and Hallie Corinne Frist secured the first point for the Horned Frogs from the No. 4 position: 21-10, 21-16.
• It was the duo's first showing and win together as a pairing.
• Namike picked up her 11th win of the season while Frist earned her sixth.
Ana Vergara and Olivia Clines earned TCU's second point of the match in a straight-set victory from the No. 5 position: 16-21, 21-14, 15-11.
• The pairing is 2-0 together this season.
• Vergara improved to 12-2 this season while Clines is now 3-1.
Hailey Hamlett and Anhelina Khmil continued their stellar season as they defeated FGCU's Beisner/Rosales at the No. 1 spot: 21-14, 21-17.
• The duo improved to 16-1 this season, all from the No. 1 position.
Josie Sek and Luana Araco were forced to medically disqualify and did not finish the match against FGCU's De Oliveira/Luebbers, giving FGCU the point.
Sutton MacTavish and Tara Patton won the fourth point for the Frogs from the No. 2 position: 22-24, 21-16, 15-12.
• The duo improved to 2-1 this season as a pairing.
• MacTavish earned her 12th win of the season while Patton earned her eighth.

• From the No. 4 spot, Luana Araco and Hallie Corinne Frist scored point number two for TCU: 21-15, 21-13.
• Individually, this is Araco's and Frist's first ranked win in their careers.
• This is the duo's first win and showing as a pairing.
Sutton MacTavish and Alex Parkhurst fell to FIU's Pratesi/Luini from the No. 2 position: 15-21, 16-21.
• This is the duo's first loss together, now standing at 10-1 on the season.
• From the No. 3 position Anete Namike and Tara Patton fell to FIU's Pokorna/Bielak: 15-21, 19-21.
Hailey Hamlett and Anhelina Khmil clinched the third point from the No. 1 spot: after a dominating performance in their third set: 21-14, 12-21, 15-13.
• This is the duo's fifth ranked win together this season. The two improved to 16-1 overall.
