FORT WORTH, Texas -- Third-ranked Notre Dame shot 55.0 percent, including a 10-of-11 stretch in the third quarter, to beat TCU on Saturday morning in front a national television audience.
Senior All-American candidate Zahna Medley had a game-high 22 points, hitting four three-point field goals in the game, to pace the Horned Frogs. TCU (7-3) committed just 12 turnovers against Notre Dame, but struggled to find the bottom of the net -- shooting just 38.5 percent for the game.
Notre Dame shot 33-of-60 for the game, including a 76.9 percent clip in the third quarter, to improve to 9-1 on the year. The Irish's Arike Ogunbowale had a team-high 21 points to pace five scorers in double figures.
Notre Dame jumped out to a 15-3 lead in the early going before the Frogs gradually fought back to within three at 23-20. After Notre Dame built the early 12-point lead, the Frogs got baskets from Jordan Moore, Jada Butts, Caitlin Diaz and AJ Alix before Medley hit free throws after being fouled with 0.7 left in the quarter. Butts added another basket to open the second quarter to cut it to three at 23-20 with 9:21 to go in the second quarter.
Notre Dame gradually built up the lead in the second quarter to 17 at 49-32 but never had more than two consecutive baskets in building the margin back to double digits.
After Notre Dame built a 25 points lead in the fourth quarter, TCU fought to within 14 on a three from Toree Thompson.

"She is hard to guard," said Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw of TCU's Zahna Medley. "She really is hard to guard. Twenty two points, that's really outstanding. I thought she played really well; she mixed it up well - driving and shooting the three. She went to the basket well; just really hard to guard. Honestly, a tough match up for us."
