GoFrogs: No. 25 TCU Outlasts Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. –Messiah Bright's goal in the 83rdminute capped off a see-saw battle that saw No. 25 TCU edge Oklahoma State by a 3-2 score. Kayla Hill and Tayla Christensen also scored for the Horned Frogs who picked up their 12thwin of the season.

The Rundown
Oklahoma State opened the scoring just over seven minutes into the contest on a hustle play down by the goal line. Taylor Olson sent a crossing feed into the six-yard box and a sliding Grace Yochum was able to knock the ball inside the far post for a 1-0 lead.

The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Cowgirls until the 55thminute when Kayla Hill found herself in the right spot at the right time. McKenzie Oliver'scorner kick feed was on target, but Karitas Tomasdottir's header clanged off the crossbar. It bounced perfectly for Hill, who tapped in her sixth goal of the season.

In the 71stminute, TCU grabbed its first lead of the match. Yazmeen Ryan found Tayla Christensen with some space to work. She delivered a turn-around shot that eluded the goalkeeper for her first career tally and a 2-1 TCU lead.

Just over six minutes later, the Cowgirls tied the game on a broken play inside the six. Rachel VanFossen was left unmarked and she notched the tying goal in the 77thminute.

But the Frogs had an answer in the 83rdminute. Maddy Warren worked her way around a defender and sent a low shot in on goal. The initial save was made but the rebound was left up for grabs and Messiah Bright raced in ahead of the pack to tally the game-winner.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game:
"This is a hard place to come in and play. It's always been that way. Oklahoma State is a good team. I'm happy that we were able to come away with a win. We didn't play our best. We started off poorly, but we figured out a way to grind out a college soccer game and win it. To score three goals by three different people is awesome.

We showed our character today. We've got a young team, a lot of young kids playing major minutes. It's interesting to see how they handle adversity. I thought in some tough times, we showed our character and battled and fought to figure out a way to score goals. "
