TCU Sweeps Two at Fight in The Fort
FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 20 TCU beach volleyball team started strong at the Fight in the Fort by sweeping both Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Houston Baptist on Saturday at the TCU Beach Volleyball Courts in Fort Worth.
The Horned Frogs (9-9, 2-2 CCSA) played the second match of the tournament against the Islanders (7-7) and avenged a loss from last weekend. Caroline White and Jordan Westendorff set the tone early by getting the first win against Demi McInnis and Kylie Kvam, 21-13, 21-19. The Islanders were resilient at the top pairs, as they forced a third set on all three courts. The Frogs were able to dig deep and earn a victory on all three courts to pick up the first team win of the day.
TCU continued its robust showing against Houston Baptist (4-8). The first two matches resulted in quick wins and a 2-0 start. Mandi Orellana and Haven Hill were forced to go the distance on the first court against the Huskies' Aeriel Horton and Tori Hinojosa. The pair continued the team's good form in three set matches, which earned the team another sweep on the day.
