Lagat and Jepkemboi Close Out 44 Farms Team Invitational with Meet Records
Jepkemboi breaks javelin school record

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – TCU track and field sophomores Johnson Lagatwon the 1500m race and Irene Jepkemboi took the javelin crown on Saturday, both breaking the meet record. Their performances highlighted the Horned Frogs' night at the 44 Farms Team Invitational which saw five top 10 marks in program history.
Lagat ran a 3:44.04 to win the 1500m, breaking the previous meet record by five seconds. His time also cracked the all-time top 10 at TCU, checking in at No. 4.
For Jepkemboi, her throw of 57.93m (190-0) helped her secure the win by over two meters. It also broke her own school record and ranks fifth in the NCAA this year.
Benjamin Kirbo started the afternoon off for the Frogs, recording a top 10 finish in the men's pole vault invite, clearing 5.33 (17-5¾). TCU continued to see success in the field events with junior Damilare Olukosi finishing as the runner-up in the triple jump (15.77m), and Serina Ramirez registered a personal best discus throw of 50.43m (third best in school history).
Action on the track started with a third place 4x100m relay for the women. The TCU squad posted a 43.90, the ninth fastest time in program history.
Georgia Scott nearly picked up the event win in the women's 1500m. She finished as the runner-up with a personal best time of 4:28.32, followed by teammates Mckenzie Bailey and Chachi Gonzales all inside the top six.
Amari Kiluvia snagged a sixth-place finish for the Frogs in the 100m hurdles (13.40), and Samarra Monrroy registered an eighth-place finish in the women's 400m (53.43).
On the men's side Destin Drummond (46.81), Dominic Byles (47.66) and Jordan Parker (47.83) all ran personal best times in the 400m, and Lloyd Frilot finished second overall in the 800m with a personal best 1:47.02, the fifth fastest time in school history.
In the sprints, Iyana Gray captured a third-place finish in the 100m dash. The senior ran an 11.26, less than a tenth off her personal best. Teammate London Tucker followed inside the top 10 with an 11.39.
