FORT WORTH – A pair of TCU baseball Horned Frogs were drafted on the final day of the 2018 MLB First Year Player draft. Junior right-handed pitcher Jared Janczak was drafted in the 32nd round by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and junior outfielder Josh Watsonwas selected in the 35th round by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Janczak made eight starts this season and posted a 3.00 ERA to go along with a 1-1 record. He had 41 strikeouts in 42 innings before an injury brought a premature end to his season.

In his career, Janczak has been a stalwart. In 49 appearances, the redshirt junior has made 30 starts. He owns a career record of 17-7 and has a 2.56 ERA. In 218 innings pitched, he has racked up 223 strikeouts. A two-time All-Big 12 performer, he was an All-American in 2017. He has won Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors three times in addition to being named a National Pitcher of the Week once.

Watson hit .305 with 10 doubles, three triples and eight home runs this season. He ranked second on the team with 32 RBIs and led the squad with 40 walks.

He has been a staple on the diamond in his three years on campus starting all 191 games in his career. Watson is a .274 career hitter with 33 doubles, nine triples and 20 home runs. He is a two-time All-Big 12 performer.

TCU had five total selections in the 2018 MLB First Year Player Draft. Luken Baker (2nd round, St. Louis Cardinals) was drafted on Day 1, while Durbin Feltman (3rd round, Boston Red Sox) and Sean Wymer (4th round, Toronto Blue Jays) were selected on Day 2.

During his 15 seasons as TCU's head coach, Schlossnagle has seen 75 players drafted by 26 organizations.

Who are the organizations that haven't drafted a Frog?

According to http://www.baseball-almanac.com/draft/baseball_draft.shtml, five clubs have not drafted a Frog in the Schlossnagle era: Dodgers, Mariners, Mets, Phillies & Rays.

Clubs that have used the most draft picks on Frogs are Orioles (8), Brewers (6), Cardinals (5) & Red Sox (5).
