GoFrogs: Horned Frogs Drop Opener At Cincinnati
CINCINNATI – A four run sixth inning for Cincinnati was all the Bearcats would need as they handed TCU a 4-2 loss in the series opener Friday night at UC Baseball Stadium. Luke Boyers homered for the Horned Frogs.

The Rundown
TCU took a 1-0 lead in the fifth on a pair of hits. Ryder Robinson doubled with one out and scored on a two-out double off the bat of Chase Brunson.

Payton Tolle (3-2) held the Bearcats hitless through 5 1/3 innings. A one out walk in the fifth was followed by the first hit of the day for Cincinnati. With the bases loaded, the Frogs looked poised to get out of the inning. Tolle made a play on a bunt to get the tying run out at home for the second out of the inning, but a five-pitch walk followed to tie the game. Back-to-back singles put the Bearcats in front 3-1.

Luke Boyers led off the ninth with a home run to pull the Frogs with two, 4-2. Sam Myers and Brunson singled with two outs to put the tying runs on base, but the Bearcats made a good defensive play to end the game.

Tolle took the loss after allowing four runs on three hits. He struck out six and walked four. Ben Abledt fanned two in an inning of work and Zack Morris registered the final four outs for the Frogs.
