Scouting New Mexico
New Mexico, who is 11-1-4 overall and 5-0-1 in conference, comes into this weekend ranked in nearly every national poll. On Saturday, UNM will look to capture the 2010 Mountain West Conference Championship outright. The Lobos have already claimed a share of the MWC title by battling Wyoming to a 1-1 draw last Sunday. In the match, Jael Fanning netted the lone goal for UNM, scoring in the first half off a cross from Jennifer Williams.

Overall, New Mexico, who is ranked No. 5 in the NSCAA Pacific Region and No. 26 in the NSCAA National Poll, hasn't lost since falling to SMU, 1-0, on Sept. 12. The Lobos have played in five double overtimes games this season, including a 1-0 double overtime victory last Friday night at Air Force.

UNM is led on offense by Williams and Rachel Fields. Williams, a junior from Moreno Valley, Calif., has netted eight goals, while also dishing out seven assists. Fields has had a stellar senior season in Albuquerque, scoring five goals and two assists this fall.

Scouting TCU
TCU, who is 7-10-1 overall and 1-5-0 in the MWC entering Saturday's contest, is coming off a 1-0 setback to Air Force last Sunday. Jordan Calhoun led the TCU offensive attack against the Falcons with five shot attempts, but couldn't find the back of the net at Air Force Soccer Stadium.

The Horned Frogs are 4-5-1 at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium this fall. Overall, the Frogs have won two out of their last four games at Jane Justin Field.

TCU is led on offense by Calhoun, who has netted six goals, while also recording three assists. In total, the Horned Frogs have totaled 36 goals heading into their final regular season match, including 23 goals in the second half of games this fall. On defense, senior Kelsey Walters has had a solid season, saving 64 shots.

Closing It Out In Style
The match against the Lobos on Saturday will mark the final home game for Chelsea Cody, Cheryl Martin, Jackie Torda, Kelsey Walters and Nikki Wilbur. The five seniors have combined to win 38 games and have played in three-straight conference tournaments. During the past four years, the group has not only helped TCU break nearly every program record, but also claim a program high ranking of No. 26 in 2009. In total, the group has netted 32 goals combined during their four years in Fort Worth.

Senior Night Success
TCU will look to continue an impressive streak on Saturday night under head coach Dan Abdalla. The Frogs are 2-2-1 under Abdalla on senior night, including 2-1-1 the last four seasons. In its last four outings, TCU has outscored its opponent, 6-5, on senior night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. In two of their five final home games, the Frogs have shut out their opponent, including a 3-0 shutout of then No. 22 Utah in 2007.

The Series Breakdown
TCU and New Mexico will battle on Saturday night for the 11th time in program history. The Lobos lead the all-time series 6-3-1, but the Frogs have won two out of the last three meetings between the two Mountain West Conference foes. In 2008, TCU dominated the contest in Fort Worth, downing the Lobos 3-1 at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Last fall, TCU totaled 17 shot attempts, but dropped a 1-0 decision to New Mexico at the UNM Soccer Complex.

A Closer Look At Saturday's Match
For a second-consecutive season, TCU and New Mexico will play on a Saturday night. Upon further review, TCU has had some recent success against the Lobos, recording a 2-1-1 record against UNM in its last four outings. New Mexico owned the series from 1993-1997, dropping the Frogs by a combined score of 19-3. Under head coach Dan Abdalla, TCU has only fell twice to UNM, which came in a 3-0 setback during Abdalla's first year in Fort Worth and a 1-0 heartbreaker last fall in Albuquerque.

I thought the soccer team was going to be good this year. Seems like they have really good statistics but just don't win much.
