OKLAHOMA CITY -- TCU cornerback Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson has been named to the watch list for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award, presented annually to the nation's top defensive back.
TCU's Tre'von Moehrig, now with the Las Vegas Raiders, was the 2020 recipient.
Hodges-Tomlinson was First-Team All-Big 12 and received All-America honors last season from the Associated Press and Pro Football Focus. PFF rated him as the nation's highest-graded cornerback in coverage at 89.1, allowing just 12 catches on 45 targets over the final nine games of the season. His 13 pass breakups led the Big 12 and were second nationally. He totaled 26 stops on the season.
A junior from Waco, Texas, Hodges-Tomlinson is Preseason All-Big 12 and has been named to multiple Preseason All-America teams as well as watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy.
Hodges-Tomlinson is the nephew of TCU Board of Trustees member and Pro Football Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson.
