FORT WORTH – Hailey Hamlett was selected for the 2024 Beach Collegiate National Team by the Beach National Team Development Program and the Beach National Team.
The team is composed of 12 of the top female collegiate athletes eligible to train and compete for the USA. A maximum of four athletes will be chosen as alternates for the World University Championship. Participants will play in the Beach Senior National Team NORCECA Trials on June 18-19, where the winners will automatically earn a bid to represent the USA at an established NORCECA competition. A maximum of four athletes (born in 2002 or later) per gender may be selected to be a part of the U23 Beach National Team.
Hamlett boasted the best record on the TCU squad this past season, 29-6, with all matches played from the No. 1 spot. She notched her 75th career win against Texas (April 6) and knocked off 12 ranked opponents for the Horned Frogs this season.
This season, Hamlett was one of the most decorated players for TCU. She was awarded a spot on the AVCA All-American First Team for the first time in her collegiate career, along with a spot on CUSA's All-Conference First Team. With teammate Anhelina Khmil, the duo was named one of AVCA's Top Flights for their performance in the No. 1 position. Additionally, the two were awarded CUSA Pair of the Year. The pairing also notched a National Champions title earlier in the fall at the AVCA Beach Pairs National Championship (Nov. 6).
Hamlett was named CUSA Pair of the Week three times this season (Feb. 28, March 27 and April 10) with an additional AVCA Pair of the Week (March 25). Earlier this season she received a spot on CUSA's Preseason All-Conference Team. After a 3-0 performance at the CUSA Championship, where she and Khmil scored the clinching point to get the Horned Frogs their second conference championship, she was named to the conference's All-Tournament team.
This year's training block for the national team will be held in Hermosa Beach, Cali. from June 11-19.
