GoFrogs: Frogs Win SEC/Big 12 Challenge at Ole Miss, 55-50

OXFORD, Miss. – Amy Okonkwo and Jordan Moore both recorded double-doubles as the TCU women's basketball team (5-1) outlasted a hard-fighting Ole Miss (3-5) squad, 55-50, in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge at the Pavilion at Ole Miss.

THE RUNDOWN
The Horned Frogs missed their first five shots of the contest and did not have a field goal the first 4:31 of the game but they bounced back in resounding fashion, using a 13-1 run to end the frame to grab the early lead. The TCU defense was tremendous late in the quarter, holding Ole Miss without a point over the final 3:36.

The Frogs continued to build on that advantage in the second quarter, heading into the locker room at halftime with a 29-17 advantage.

Ole Miss refused to go quietly, however, outscoring the Frogs, 23-10, in the third quarter to take a one-point leading going into the final 10 minutes of play.

Moore took over in the fourth for the Frogs, scoring 10 of TCU's final 14 points, including a fastbreak layup with four seconds remaining to seal the victory.

STAT OF THE GAME
47 – TCU outrebounded Ole Miss, 47-32, including 21-11 on the offensive glass. The Frogs turned those into 17 second-chance points.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
TCU Head Coach Raegan Pebley
"Sometimes you just have to win ugly and that was kind of how it went tonight. At the end we found a way. It was a collective effort by a lot of people. In a game like this there were a lot of key moments and key possessions. Whether it was Kianna (Ray) and Jayde (Woods) hitting free throws, the rebound at the end of the game by Lauren (Heard), Dakota (Vann) hitting a big three or Jordan (Moore) stepping up at the end. But Amy (Okonkwo) was a consistent threat for us all night. There were a lot of important, key figures in this game but we win as a team and this was a good team win."

UP NEXT
TCU will return to the friendly confines of Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena where it will open a six-game homestand against Army at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. The contest has been designated the Maggie Dixon Classic, presented by the TCU and University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine. A Heart Health Fair will be held before the game, starting at 12 p.m.
