GoFrogs: Frogs Advance to WNIT Semifinals
FORT WORTH, Texas – Seniors Amy Okonkwo and Jordan Moore both notched double-doubles and the TCU women's basketball team put on a defensive clinic, holding Cincinnati without a field goal for a span of 12:01 in the second half en route to a 69-55 victory on Sunday afternoon to advance to the semifinals of the WNIT.

After scoring a career-high 36 points at Arkansas in her last game, Okonkwo followed that up with a 20-point, 13-rebound performance on Sunday.

Moore was extremely effective as well, finishing with 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 11 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season. She also became just the seventh player in TCU history to reach the 1,500-point threshold for her career.

With the victory, the Horned Frogs (24-10) advance to the WNIT semifinals for the second consecutive season. TCU will hit the road once again as it will play Arizona at 8:30 p.m. CT in Tucson on Wednesday.

The win also ups TCU's home record to 17-3, improving on a mark which already stands as a school record. The Frogs have also reached 24 wins for just the fourth time in program history.

The Rundown
TCU came out of the gate ready to play, jumping out to an 11-2 lead after making five of its first eight shots of the contest. The Horned Frogs set a strong defensive tone early in the game as well, holding the Bearcats to just two makes out of their first 12 shots.

The Bearcats battled back though, cutting the TCU lead to just three points at 21-18 at the end of the first quarter. Okonkwo and Moore accounted for 16 of the Frogs' points in the opening frame.

Cincinnati continued to apply the pressure in the opening minutes of the second quarter, moving within one at 27-26 on a fastbreak layup by Florence Sifa. TCU immediately answered with a 9-0 run, however, to move back ahead by eight, 34-26. The two squads would trade buckets the rest of the half as the Horned Frogs went into the locker room up 38-31 at the break.

The Bearcats weren't going away without a fight though, as they opened the second half on a 13-3 run to reclaim their first lead since the opening minute of the game at 44-41 with 6:45 remaining in the third quarter.

That three-point lead was short-lived, however, as TCU found its groove and responded with a dominating 23-2 run over the next 12:01, spanning the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarters.

During that stretch, the Horned Frogs defense did not allow a single made field goal, forcing 17 consecutive missed shots and three turnovers from the Bearcats to close out the victory.

Stat of the Day
12:01 -- TCU held Cincinnati without a field goal for a stretch of 12:01 from the 4:39 mark of the third quarter to the 2:38 mark of the fourth. During that span, the Bearcats were 0-of-17 from the field as the Frogs went on a 23-2 run to clinch the win. TCU limited Cincinnati to just five points in the final frame, the lowest fourth-quarter point total by an opponent this season.

Quotes of the Day
TCU Head Coach Raegan Pebley
"We're going back to the final four, one of the very few teams left still playing. I love that. This is a team whose attitude heading into the postseason was great. They could have pouted and gotten in their feelings, but instead they are really locking in on each other. These seniors have led us really well with a focused sense of urgency. I think all of our players have bought in, and you can't get this far without that. Today, I thought [Cincinnati] came out in the second half and went on a pretty impressive run, but we were able to lock in on our defense and their tendencies. We did not just play hard, we played smart and that was the big turning point of the game."
