Frogs wrap up a six-game road trip
FORT WORTH - The TCU baseball team will wrap up the road portion of their regular season this weekend when they travel to West Virginia for a three game series.
TCU NOTABLES
• The Horned Frogs picked up a road series victory at USC to cap a 3-1 week.
• Thursday, the Frogs rallied with two runs in the eighth inning to earn a 5-4 victory.
• Derek Odell homered and drove in the game-winning run against the Trojans on Thursday.
• Saturday saw TCU tally its sixth shutout of the season with a 3-0 win.
• Friday's loss saw the Horned Frogs give up a season-high nine runs.
• Alex Young recorded saves in both of TCU's wins over USC.

HOME SWEET HOME
For California native Keaton Jones, last weekend was a homecoming when the Frogs took on USC.
The weekend was a success for the sophomore shortstop who hit .500 (5-for-10) with two runs scored and two RBIs. Jones collected a career-high three hits in Thursday's come-from-behind win.
In addition to his solid play at the plate, Jones got the job done in the field playing errorless baseball in all three games. He notched four putouts and tallied 16 assists. In addition, he participated in all five of the double plays turned by the Horned Frogs last weekend.
HEATING UP
Derek Odell put together his best weekend of the year at USC, posting a .667 (6-for-9) average with a home run and two RBIs.
On April 20, an 0-for-5 day at the plate against Baylor dropped Odell's average to .211. Since that time, the sophomore is hitting .400 (12-for-30) and has raised his average 37 points to .248.
The 2013 season for Odell is playing out similarly to the 2012 campaign that saw Odell come on late offensively. He is a career .418 (38-for-91) hitter after the calendar flips to May. He has played 24 career games in that stretch.
DYNAMIC DUO
A pair of freshmen pitchers have had breakout seasons on the diamond. Riley Ferrell and Alex Young were key parts in the Horned Frogs' two victories this past weekend at USC.
Young has a 2.35 ERA in 19 appearances this season, while Ferrell has posted a 2.73 ERA in the same number of appearances.
Combined, the duo has allowed just 16 earned runs in 57 innings pitched (2.53 ERA). They have 62 strikeouts to just 17 walks and are holding opponents to a .199 (40-for-201) batting average against.
THE LONG WINDING ROAD
This weekend wraps up a stretch of games that has seen TCU play two straight road series. The road trip started in Manhattan, Kan. A trip to the West Coast and Los Angeles followed. This weekend, TCU will hit the eastern part of the country when it travels to Charleston, W.V.
Sunday night when the Frogs return to campus, it will mark the end of a crazy journey. In total, the Frogs will have traveled approximately 5,964 miles since April 25.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The Frogs have played 20 road games this season and will play their final three road games this season. TCU has posted a 9-11 record away from home this year.
Offensively, the Frogs are hitting .263 on the road, led by Boomer White's .466 average. Jantzen Witte has collected 19 RBIs on the road.
On the mound, the pitching staff has posted a 2.86 ERA in 173 1/3 innings pitched. Preston Morrison and Trevor Seidenberger each have two wins. Opponents are hitting just .240 against the staff.
Defensively, the Frogs have been outstanding with a .981 fielding percentage.
