GoFrogs: Boyers Named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week

FORT WORTH –
TCU sophomore outfielder Luke Boyers has been tabbed the Big 12 Co-Player of the Year for his performance in helping TCU go 4-0 last week, including a sweep at Kansas. The honor is the first for Boyers and the third for the Horned Frogs this season.

Boyers hit .412 with eight RBI and six runs scored, helping TCU to a sweep of Kansas to keep the Horned Frogs in the Big 12 title race. Boyers had multiple hits in all three games of the series, including a 2-for-3 effort with two walks and four runs scored in Saturday's 30-3 victory over the Jayhawks. Boyers extended his on-base streak to a career-high 20 games, and has a seven-game hit streak. He posted an .824 slugging percentage with four extra-base hits on the week, holding a 1.324 OPS.

Brayden Taylor was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on Feb. 21, while Riley Cornelio was tabbed Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on March 21.
