FORT WORTH – Oklahoma rallied with five unanswered runs to take the series opener with a 7-3 win over No. 12 TCU Friday night at Lupton Stadium. Payton Tolle fanned a season-high 10 batters in the no-decision.
The Rundown
Payton Tolle turned in a quality start for the Horned Frogs, allowing two runs on just three hits over six innings. He walked one and fanned a season-high 10 batters.
TCU opened the scoring in the second, taking advantage of a one-out walk. Anthony Silva was standing on third with one out and Ryder Robinson delivered a sacrifice fly to put the Frogs in front 1-0.
Oklahoma grabbed its first lead of the game in the fourth with a two-out, two-run home run.
TCU battled back with a pair of two-out runs of its own. Back-to-back walks to open the fifth had the Frogs in business. Logan Maxwell put the Frogs back on top, 3-2, with a two-run single.
In the seventh, the Sooners erased the deficit, sending nine hitters to the plate and scoring four times. They added another run without the benefit of a hit in the eighth.
Zachary Cawyer (5-1) took the loss in relief, allowing three runs on three hits in 1/3 of an inning.

- TCU's 17-game home winning streak was snapped. The Horned Frogs last home loss was May 5, 2023 against Cal State Fullerton.
