GoFrogs: Anderson Receives National Honor

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced TCU running back Darius Anderson as its National Offensive Player of the Week.

Anderson is the ninth TCU player to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since 2004 and the first since Ty Summers in a 2015 win over Baylor.

Anderson had career-highs and team-bests of 26 carries, 160 yards rushing and three touchdowns in the Horned Frogs' 44-31 win at No. 6 Oklahoma State. He was also TCU’s second-leading receiver in the game with four receptions for 41 yards.

A sophomore from Rosenburg, Texas, Anderson totaled 201 yards of total offense. His first touchdown of the game gave TCU the lead for good at 13-7, while his final score sealed the victory. He had scoring runs of 28, 6 and 42 yards. The 42-yard touchdown, on a 3rd-and-4 with 2:37 to play, salted the game after Oklahoma State cut the deficit to 37-31. It was also TCU’s longest run from scrimmage this season.

Anderson has a team-high 422 yards rushing and six touchdowns on a 6.2 yards per carry mark.

Not only has great, vision, cut, jukes and speed, but will also put his head down and run into and over a defender.

Last year in Austin Anderson had a great game and really shut the crown down, made for a fun game. I could not have told you him name before that afternoon but when the game was over he was well known. Go Frogs and go Darius.
