FORT WORTH – TCU beach volleyball's Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno were named AVCA/CBVB Pair of the Week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Monday. This is the duos third career honor as a pairing.
This past weekend, Alvarez and Moreno (16-1) had a perfect showing playing all four matches from the No. 1 position. The duo collected three straight set ranked victories over the top pairings from No. 6 Grand Canyon (21-12, 21-19), No. 9 California (21-13, 21-12) and No. 15 Florida International (21-10, 21-13) as well as a straight set win over Texas (21-10, 21-12). Alvarez and Moreno were also responsible for scoring three match clinching points over the weekend against FIU, Grand Canyon and Texas.
The pairing showcased their dominance over opponents by tallying an average margin of victory of 8.375 points per set.
