LAST YEAR VS. TCU
TCU, ranked No. 10/9 nationally, defeated Air Force, 20-17, in Falcon Stadium to hand the Falcons their first conference loss of the season.
The Horned Frogs had 393 total yards, ran 17 more plays than Air Force and had a 33:55 to 26:05 advantage in time of possession. Andy Dalton led TCU by hitting 16 of 28 passes for 198 yards while rushing for 38 yards. Joseph Turner had 72 yards rushing and a score.
After falling behind 14-0, the Falcons got on the board when Jonathan Warzeka threw a touchdown pass to Kevin Fogler to cut the lead to 14-7 at halftime. The team's exchanged field goals in the third quarter and TCU added another field goal to take a 20-10 lead. Connor Dietz, starting his second game at quarterback, scored his first-career touchdown on an eight-yard run to make up the final margin. TCU recovered an on-side kick to seal the win.
Dietz led the Falcons with 71 yards rushing and hit six of 17 passes for 42 yards. The defense was led by Justin Moore's 12 tackles while John Falgout and Jon Davis chipped in with 11 and 10 tackles, respectively.

THE LAST TIME AT TCU
TCU defeated Air Force, 44-10, handing the Falcons their worst loss of the season. The Horned Frogs were dominant, rolling up 504 total yards of offense while holding Air Force to a season-low 161 yards. Quarterback Andy Dalton led the way, hitting 21 of 27 passes for 321 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a pair of scores. Jimmy Young hauled in five passes for 100 yards while Joseph Turner led the rushing attack with 50 yards on nine carries.
Air Force was led by Asher Clark and Jared Tew, who each rushed for 63 yards and each added their season-long runs. Clark's came on a 54 yard run to set up a field goal while Tew went 57 yards for Air Force's only touchdown.
Luke Shivers opened the scoring with a three-yard run followed by a 32-yard field goal from Ross Evans to give TCU a 10-0 first quarter lead. Ryan Harrison got the Falcons on the board with a 32-yard field goal to cut the lead to 10-3 early in the second quarter. TCU answered with a pair of Dalton touchdowns, one passing and one running to open a 24-3 halftime advantage.
Dalton added another touchdown pass and run in the third quarter to put the game out of reach, 37-3. Tew scored his touchdown early in the fourth quarter and TCU closed the scoring with a Justin Watts TD run to make up the final margin.

TEXAS TIES
More Air Force players call Texas home than any other state. The Falcons roster has 15 players from the Lone Star state. In addition, two coaches are from the state. Co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Blane Morgan is from Dallas, while running game coordinator/running backs coach Jemal Singleton is from San Antonio. Head coach Troy Calhoun also has ties to Texas as the offensive coordinator for the NFL's Houston Texans in 2006.

PATTERSON/CALHOUN TWO OF THE WINNINGEST IN MWC
TCU's Gary Patterson and Troy Calhoun of Air Force are two of the winningest coaches in Mountain West Conference history. Patterson ranks second in MWC history with a 36-7 (.837) mark while Calhoun is fifth with a 19-9 (.679) mark. Urban Meyer, who coached Utah from 2003-05, is the winningest MWC coach of all-time with a 13-1 (.929) mark.

AIR FORCE - TCU COMPARISONS
• Air Force and TCU are two of the top rushing teams in the nation. The Falcons lead the nation with a 346.9 per-game average. TCU ranks second in the MWC and 10th in the nation with a 255.4 average.
• Air Force's rushing offense will face a tough test this week, as TCU leads the conference and ranks ninth nationally in rushing defense with a 90.3 average. The Horned Frogs have held Air Force to an average of 168.8 yards rushing over the last four years. Air Force's best effort in the span is 229 yards in 2009.
• Air Force leads the league and ranks 13th nationally in total offense with a 470.1 per-game average. TCU ranks second in the MWC and 15th nationally with a 468.4 norm.
• TCU leads the conference and ranks second nationally in total defense with a 218.3 per-game average. Air Force is third and 42nd with a 344.6 norm.
• TCU (.86) and Air Force (.29) rank first and third, respectively, in the MWC in turnover margin.

AIR FORCE VS. RANKED TEAMS
TCU is the third ranked team Air Force has played this season. The Falcons split their other two games, beating No. 24 BYU, 35-14, at home and falling at No. 9/7 Oklahoma, 27-24. Fourth-ranked TCU is the highest ranked team Air Force has played since hosting No. 3 Oklahoma in 2001. The Sooners won the game, 44-3. Air Force is 16-67-4 all-time vs. ranked teams.

THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Air Force is receiving votes in both the Associated Press and USA Today coaches poll. Last week the Falcons were ranked in both polls and for consecutive weeks for the first time since 2002. The team's No. 23 ranking was the program's highest since being ranked as high as 15th in 2002.
Air Force snapped a three-game losing streak as a ranked team with a 49-27 win over Colorado State. Air Force's victory is its first as a ranked team since defeating BYU, 52-9, in 2002.

PLAYING BEST WHEN IT MATTERS MOST
Air Force is 13-6 under head coach Troy Calhoun in games during the second half of the season (last six games), including a 4-2 mark the last two years. Air Force was 5-1 in 2007 which is the best mark since the 1998 team was 6-0. Prior to Calhoun's arrival in 2007, the Falcons were 12-24 over the last six games of the season since 2001.

TURNING AROUND A TREND
Air Force is 10-6 in the month of October over the last four seasons, including a 9-4 mark in conference games. Prior to the last four seasons, Air Force had not posted a winning record in the month of October since going 4-0 in 1998. In fact, the Falcons had not won more than two games in the month since then. Air Force's three wins in 2007 matched the total from the previous three years combined. Air Force was 12-19 in October from 1999-2006.

LAST WEEK
San Diego State defeated Air Force, 27-25, at Qualcomm Stadium. Freshman Ronnie Hillman rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-clincher. Quarterback Ryan Lindley hit 14 of 26 passes for 247 yards and a score as the Aztecs had 452 total yards and averaged 7.8 yards per play.
Air Force was led by Asher Clark, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown. Tim Jefferson added 88 yards on 15 carries and hit 13 of 30 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown. Air Force finished the game with 487 total yards, including 312 rushing. The Aztecs led throughout the game and took a 20-12 lead early in the fourth quarter on a field goal by Abel Perez. The Falcons answered with a Nathan Walker touchdown run. The team's two point conversion, a Jefferson to Clark pass, was overturned by replay to keep it 20-18. Both teams added touchdowns in the final two minutes to make up the final margin. Hillman ran for a 44-yard touchdown following an onside kick. Jefferson hit Demerath with a seven-yard pass for Air Force's score. SDSU recovered an onside kick to end the game.

Team Notes
• Air Force is now 4-1 this season and 20-4 under head coach Troy Calhoun when the team has a 100-yard rusher. Asher Clark did the honors with 116 yards.
• The 27 points allowed ties a season high, also done by Oklahoma and Colorado State.
• Air Force rank 92 total plays which is the ninth most in school history and most since running 94 vs. Cal State Northridge in 2000.
• The Falcons had a 35:18 time of possession, their third most this season.

Individual Notes
• Senior DB Reggie Rembert recorded his third interception of the season, which leads the team. The interception is the ninth of his career which leads all active players. The turnover is his fifth of the season (3 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR) and 19th of his career (9 INT, 5 FF, 5FR).
• Senior TE Chaz Demerath recorded his first catch of the game in the second quarter to mark his fifth straight game with at least one catch. Demerath has a catch in six of seven games this season. Demerath also set a career high with four receptions, surpassing his previous high of three vs. Navy this year.
• Junior PK Erik Soderberg kicked two field goals (25, 30), which marks his first multi-field goal game of the season. His 30-yard field goal is a season long. (20, 25, 29, 30).
• Junior WR Jonathan Warzeka recorded a career high in catches with five, which is the most by a Falcon this season, and in yards with 55.
• Junior RB Asher Clark recorded his second-straight 100-yard rushing game of the season with 116 yards on 19 carries. The 100-yard game is his third this season and seventh of his career.
• Junior QB Tim Jefferson set a career high with 30 pass attempts and 13 completions. His previous high was 12 completions on 20 attempts vs. BYU in 2008.
• Senior linebacker Patrick Hennessey set a career high with a team-high nine tackles.

ATTENDANCE NOTES
The attendance of 41,547 against Colorado State marks the fourth straight home game with 40,000-plus this season. The last time the school had four straight 40,000-plus crowds was in 1998 vs. Wake Forest (47,972), Colorado State (50,115), New Mexico (43,575) and Navy (54,562). This season marks the first time 2002 that the Academy has had four crowds of over 40,000 in one season overall.
Air Force had back-to-back sell outs earlier this season. A season-high crowd of 47,565 attended the Navy game Oct. 2. Air Force hosted 46,692 against BYU Sept. 11. The consecutive sell outs mark just the second in school history and first since 1972 when the Academy hosted Notre Dame (48,671) and Colorado (47,191).

ACADEMICS AND FOOTBALL
The Air Force football team has the second-highest multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) of any team in the Football Bowl Subdivision, according to a report issued by the NCAA. The program's 988 ranks second only to Rutgers, who had a 992, among the 120 FBS football playing schools. Rounding out the top five were Rice (987), Northwestern (986) and Duke (983). The multi-year APR is for the 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-89 academic years.
Air Force's number is easily the best within the Mountain West Conference. TCU is second with a 968 while Utah is third at 949. Colorado State is fourth with a 945 followed by BYU (940), New Mexico and UNLV (934), San Diego State (931) and Wyoming (928). The Academy is also the highest ranking service academy, as Navy posted a 973 and Army a 964.

CALHOUN LEADS THE NATION IN COACHES APR
Air Force football coach Troy Calhoun led the nation in Academic Progress Rates for Division I head coaches released by the NCAA. Calhoun has a three-year average of 986, posting a 981 in 2006-07, a 989 in 2007-08 and a 987 for 2008-09. Ken Niumatalolo of Navy (978) ranked second nationally followed by Randy Shannon of Miami (977).
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
• Air Force ranks fourth in the MWC and 31st nationally in scoring defense with a 19.4 average.
• Air Force is third in the MWC and 14th nationally in pass defense with a 163.3 norm.
• Six players (Waiwaiole, Davis, Amack, Ricketts, Hennessey, Lindsay) have 30 or more tackles.
• Air Force ranks third in the MWC in total defense with a 344.6 average.
• The Falcons held Oklahoma to just 3.3 yards per rush and Northwestern State to just 1.9.

TEW, CLARK AMONG THE BEST
Senior FB Jared Tew and junior RB Asher Clark have combined for 3,955 yards in their careers. The pair ranks third in school history in combined yards by teammates. Clark ranks ninth in school history with 2,117 yards while Tew is 12th with 1,838. Tew's total is third-best among fullbacks.

WATCH LISTS / HONORS
• Junior placekicker Erik Soderberg was named to the Watch List for the 2010 Lou Groza Collegiate Placekicker Award, released by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.
• Senior defensive back Reggie Rembert was named to the 2010 Paul Hornung Award watch list. Rembert was one of 48 players on the watch list for the award, given annually to the most versatile player in major college football.
• Rembert is also one of 30 NCAA® football bowl subdivision student-athletes who excel both on and off the field and were selected as candidates for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in football. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.
• Junior defensive back Anthony Wright has been named to the 2010 Lott Trophy Watch List announced by Ronnie Lott and the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.

CALHOUN TO VISIT TROOPS IN 2011
Air Force football coach Troy Calhoun will once again visit military troops overseas in 2011. This will be the coach's second trip to visit troops, as he visited the Middle East during the summer of 2009.
This year's visit will take place from Feb. 12-20 and locations and additional details are still being determined. Calhoun will be joined by other service academy head coaches Rich Ellerson of Army and Ken Niumatalolo of Navy, along with Bill George of the Coast Guard Academy and Mike Toop of the Merchant Marine Academy. Calhoun was joined by Mack Brown of Texas, Jim Tressel of Ohio State, UCLA's Rick Neuheisel and Houston Nutt of Mississippi, along with former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville on the 2009 tour.

FOGLER SEMIFINALIST FOR CAMPBELL TROPHY
Air Force senior receiver Kevin Fogler has been selected as one of 121 semifinalists for the 2010 William V. Campbell Trophy (formerly known as the Draddy Trophy), endowed by HealthSouth, and the candidates for the 2010 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards. Fogler is a management major with a 3.61 GPA.
Nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, semifinalists must be a senior or graduate student in their final year of eligibility, have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor, and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship. The trophy was renamed last fall in honor of Bill Campbell, the chairman of Intuit, former player and head coach at Columbia University and the 2004 recipient of the NFF's Gold Medal.
