have a friend who is a texas ex and from time to time he will start this [ deposit from a bull that looks like Art Briles ] line of excuse that the reason tcu has the big winning record over texas since the frogs joined the big 12 is that the games simply have meant more than texas.
that tired old "texas is tcu's super bowl" bull [ Finebaum ].
last night it was damn obvious this just wasn't another game for texas, it was quite matter this game mattered to sark, the program, all those people who packed that stadium they came to prove tcu was a fraud and that texas had righted the ship, and would set texas college football back in proper order before leaving tcu and the rest of the best 12 to wither up and die while they go to the sec.
early on their defensive front was more physical than the tcu offense line and they hounded and flustered max. funny thing was, for as much carnage that the texas defensive front wreaked on the tcu offense, the frogs defense matched on the texas, especially the vaunted texas run game
funny thing is, as the game progressed one team found their footing on offenses, started to open up the run game, complete some big throws, and another cracked
in the end tcu was the more physical team for 60 minutes, they were more focused for 60 minutes, and it was clear who was the better teams
as crazy as it sounds to some that tcu is 10-0 consider these defensive numbers turned out by the frogs defense
the first 9 texas offense series totaled 37 plays resulting in 82 totals yards
really struck me how much the frogs defense has progressed on each level. horton, fox, and mitchell have gone better each week. johnny hodges played like a grown arse man last night and banks didn't look like a big athlete, he played like an athletic, big linebacker. the nephew easily had his best game of the year and bud clark has really started to make his presence felt at safety
amazing what happens when motivated players work with coaches who can teach the skills needed to become accomplished players
finally, the frogs punting team as a whole was big and not just the penalties. the frogs continually pinned texas deep and isn't it nice when a coach decides to punt near midfield they have a unit that has been taught to execute the damn strategy
