Starting in November, you may have noticed bright purple streetlights shining in Fort Worth as you drive home in the evening. Some have assumed they were new bulbs the city started using, others thought it was to enhance crime control and many believed the lights were in support of TCU football for the National Championship title game.

It turns out the purple lights actually signify a manufacturer defect, city communications manager Valerie Colapret told the Star-Telegram on Nov. 18. The glowing purple streetlights are about to go out and must be replaced.

That deserves a BIG ATTA BOY Ft. Worth. Continue the awareness of TCU, and it will come back three-fold in recognition of Ft. Worth, (Cowtown) and TCU. Thats a proven!!

I jumped the gun w/o reading the why's. Guess it is too much to ask for something permanent from the city. Our neighbors in the state from other schools (example tx & am) do not want to exhibit one ounce of recognition of TCU. It's been that way for decades and decades. So business leaders continue to say ho-hum to TCU.
