FWST: TCU wouldn't mind a freaky Friday in college football
TCU could have great news in the early hours of Saturday, well before they play at New Mexico in the Horned Frogs' regular-season finale.
Oregon, Auburn and Boise State -- the teams in a race with the Frogs for the No. 1 and 2 spots in the BCS football standings -- play Friday night. If all three lose -- with Boise State's 9:15 p.m. start putting their finish well past midnight -- the 11-0 Frogs would need only a victory over New Mexico to virtually assure themselves of a berth in the national title game.
Three losses is an unlikely scenario, of course. Auburn is an underdog at Alabama, but Oregon and Boise State are favored. ...
