The door prize from winning The Granddaddy of Them All sits unpretentiously on the table in Gary Patterson's office.
A few feet away, the recently proclaimed "best coach in college football" is casually slipping into his sneakers for a midday workout.
As metaphors go, Patterson has a $143 million one swirling up construction dust right outside of his office window.
If the question, therefore, is whether the TCU Horned Frogs have become plump and content after winning the Rose Bowl, the answer is an emphatic no.
It was Tuesday, three days before TCU's opener at Baylor, and Patterson was at the podium for the season's first media luncheon.
