TCU head coach Sonny Dykes gives reasons why the Frogs signed four JUCO players

TCU signed 29 prospects to their 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday, which ended up being the top-ranked class in the Big 12. Among the 29 signees were four junior college prospects the Frogs landed. Signing with the Frogs on Wednesday were defensive linemen Perry Cole Jr. and Kelten Mickell, cornerback Jonah Martinez and safety Kollin Collier.
Mickell was the highest ranked of the JUCO signees for the Frogs. The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder was ranked as the No. 4 overall JUCO prospect in the nation and No. 4 defensive line prospect. In 2024, Mickell recorded 32 stops with four tackles for loss and a sack. Mickell was a two-time All-Mississippi Association of Community College Conference selection and chose the Frogs over several program including a handful of SEC schools.
