The Horned Frogs are beginning to close strong on the recruiting trail ahead of Early Signing Day with two commitments from junior college prospects this week.

The first recruit to join the class was defensive lineman Kelten Mickell. The 6-foot-2, 300 pound defensive tackle announced his commitment to TCU on Monday.

Currently at Jones College in Petal, Mississippi, Mickell is rated the No. 4 JUCO prospect nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings. Mickell also held offers from South Carolina and Kansas State before deciding on the Horned Frogs.

According to the esteemed Nick Saban, "they're at a JUCO for a reason".
Did he really say that? What a hypocrite. Both Alabama & Georgia have taken a number of Jucos to shore up their lines.
The Frogs just improved athletically inside with the addition of these two and they will get to go through Spring, which means they start the strength & conditioning program as well as learning Avalos' defense.
It‘s all good.

Then hire some good tutors.
And anyone Not showing up to class or late to team meetings gets stadium steps.
Was surprised to read here about Cam.
Usually not having the grades to enter so they go the JuCo route to bring their entrance grades to minimum acceptance.

I hate to say this... But these guys are basically employees now... Who cares about class / grades? Feel like those days are long gone... The powers that be have to know that for the talented athletes, it's all about the $ and not about a degree.

Pendulum swings back and forth. There should be a correction sometime soon.

Of course that assumes that the people calling the tune want athletes to be students, at least to some degree.
