TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has been named one of five finalists for the 2014 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
 
The award is presented to a player who was born in Texas, or graduated from a state high school or plays at a Texas-based University.
 
Boykin, the Big 12 offensive player of the year, is also a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award and Manning Award.
 
Boykin, who played at West Mesquite, tops the Big 12 and is third nationally in total offense (363.0 yards per game). He set TCU single-season records for passing yards (3,714), touchdown passes (30), total offense (4,356) and touchdowns responsible for (39).
 
The other finalists are running back Jay Ajayi (Boise State), quarterback J.T. Barrett (Ohio State), running back Samaje Perine (Oklahoma) and quarterback Bryce Petty (Baylor).
