FWST: Pitching woes doom TCU

It was a cruel reminder of what plagued TCU all season.

Kyle Winkler, starting for just the second time in a month due to arm trouble, grabbed the triceps on his right arm in pain as he walked off the mound in the first inning Sunday.

Oral Roberts, the lowest seed in the Fort Worth Regional, pounced on the Horned Frogs' bullpen, including Erik Miller, who replaced Winkler with two outs in the first, to eliminate TCU from the NCAA Tournament 8-4. ...

Offensive decline

TCU's pitchers struggled with injuries this season, but the Frogs' offensive numbers were down from a year ago. In contrast, TCU's team ERA was down from 3.55 to 3.20 this season.
