FWST: Improved but inconsistent TCU men open MWC play

The giant, invisible cloud created by the TCU football program that nearly engulfed the rest of the university has begun to slowly lift. As that cloud lifts it will reveal a men's basketball team that hoped to be ready to fill the void but instead appears to be stuck in the adolescent phase of its development.
The team is undoubtedly better than it has been in years, and this is third-year coach Jim Christian's best team, but the growing pains remain as consistency remains elusive.
"We don't realize how hard we have to play. We have a lot of young guys and junior-college transfers, and this a different level," junior guard Hank Thorns said. "We have to figure out our formula and how to keep going instead of hitting that wall." ...
