Jaden Oberkrom left the NFL after realizing his true passion was teaching the next generation of college kickers. The former TCU kicker, who still holds the Horned Frogs’ record for field goals made and attempted, remembers the comments from those who questioned his decision.

“I mean you have friends and family. I mean, people called me, they questioned me, they called me dumb, stupid, you know, what are you going through you’re throwing your life away. I got a lot of why don’t you just do it for a year or two and make a million bucks and then go back home,” said Oberkrom.

Man plans. . . God laughs.
Don't fret about nothing! Instead, pray about whatever is bothering you. Pray about what you need. Pray to God and thank him for saving your sorry hide. Only in this way will you find the peace you've been prowling the brush looking for. God's peace cannot be understood nor explained, only experienced by real hands. His peace will protect your heart and your mind as you ride for the Lord.

I try but often fail to remember to ask God not for the selfish things I want, rather for His blessings and the grace and wisdom to recognize and accept them.
Wife and I received a huge one yesterday. We got bumped from our 8:30 am flight to Sacramento and wound up with two middle seats on the noon flight. We were already tired and cranky from a very eventful past few days.
There was a group of young men who were on that flight with us who are on the U.S. paraplegic volleyball team, going to Sacto to play the Kraut national team. One of them graciously gave my wife his seat so we could sit together. She held my hand and slept with her head on my shoulder almost the entire 3.5 hours.
Shook his hand and thanked him when we landed, told him it was a small kindness for him to do but was hugely impactful to us. Surely God put that young man in our path, and I hope he is rewarded a hundred fold for his kindness.
