I acknowledge my ignorance of FWISD hiring policies and procedures to ask a question: As a coach at NSHS, wasn't he an employee of FWISD? So he "resigns" from...what, FWISD to take a job at FWISD but in a different location? Or, do coaches (and teachers? counselors? administrators?) have contracts with the individual schools belonging to the ISD?
You're on point. I teacher/coach's contract is with the ISD .. not the individual school within the ISD. Technically, Coach Turner was transferred to Southwest from North Side by the Athletic Department of the FWISD. The ISD will post the opening at North Side to the public and the hiring process for the North Side position will take place from that pool of applicants. Resign is a poor choice of words to describe Coach Turners' move to Southwest which was a technically a "District Employment transfer". No resignation from the ISD took place. Thank you Coach Turner for your dedication, hard work and leadership during your 11 years "On the Hill". You have been an inspiration to nearly a dozens classes of young men and women on the North Side. May the FWISD and North Side leadership choose wisely when replacing Coach Turner. Go Frogs!! Go Steers! and Go Raiders!
