FWST: Big 12 presidents meet to address conference stability

Big 12 presidents met Sunday to discuss issues related to conference realignment, with interim Commissioner Chuck Neinas scheduled to provide an update during today's teleconference with league football coaches.

The Big 12 is down to a nine-school nucleus, with plans to expand, after Texas A&M joined the Southeastern Conference last week.

Missouri's board of curators has scheduled a Tuesday meeting, which could lead to that school exploring an opportunity to join the SEC.

Big 12 presidents were expected to discuss ways to stabilize the existing league, as well as expansion opportunities, during Sunday's meeting. TCU, which is scheduled to join the Big East next season, has been identified as a possible Big 12 expansion candidate, along with Brigham Young, Boise State and three existing Big East members: Louisville, Cincinnati and West Virginia. ...
