Last comment a little worrisome but haven't heard anything

All three of those are surprises. Had heard Broughton was struggling a bit in the spring and James looked like the better CB.

Hodges over Elarms-Orr is even more surprising considering it was almost a foregone conclusion EO would be starting opposite Obiazor.

And yeah, the absence of Bennett is a huge concern. If he’s out for whatever reason, then we’re back to 1 deep at OG.

You’re trying too hard
Is this a firmness pun?

Hopefully an area where competition will be a real boon. IIRC, Hodges was carrying an injury most of last year but I think he'll be disappointed with how things went. I don't think he'll be underwhelming again this year.

I think Hodges is an excellent LB. Especially against the run. But he struggles in passing downs. He’s just a step too slow. EO is just too insanely talented to keep off the field IMO. But to your point, competition can only make you better so I’m all for it.

With the turnover in staff plus the additional head coach analysts and the new kids from the portal and standard recruiting, I think you’re going to hear a lot of this kind of talk all the way up to kick off—their way of saying yes, we have definitely learned our lessons from last year.
