Never sure what to make of these updates. If Hoover is making other passes, that would be settling to know.
I know Seals is probably playing against the 2s, but he seems to hit the target if the Johnson's posts are representative of it all.
If Hoover has time/stays in the pocket he can make almost any throw. He still gets a little anxious and rushes things, but improving.

Seals has an advantage in that he has played behind a mismatched OL for a while. He is calmer under pressure and stays with the play a little longer. This may be the best OL he has played behind.

This is the last week before things go dark and we won't have these reports but has been fun to follow.

The starting OL is finally coming together so that is going to help but depth definitely an issue.

LT Bless Harris
LG Coltin Deery
C James Brockermeyer
RG Carson Bruno
RT Mike Nichols

The problem behind them is that you have a bunch of tackles beyond Strickland and Powers and several of the starters have had injury issues in the past. However, the back-up tackles are looking good.

You may have a point. I don't believe I've seen an update that says, "Hoover completes deep pass".
Timing is everything, I hope he finds his.

it's been promising to hear that the team seems more physical this year.

Last season, we waited too long to allow Hoover to run with the ball IMO. I believe we could have possibly beaten Texas and maybe gotten another win had he been encouraged to tuck it and go with some keepers/options. He's no speedster but he did get into the end zone on a keeper late in the season.

I think a completely immobile quarterback for TCU spells a few losses each season as it limits what the opponents' defenses have to prepare for and defend.

No doubt about it.

This review provides serious concern over an already struggling O-Line. This could be a season of struggles for the offense. Loosing Bennett may be too much to overcome.

Sigh….

Eh, it really wasn’t that bad actually but it didn’t inspire much confidence, either.

Key take-away for me was after they fitted Deery into LG things looked much better. We shall see but barring the inevitable injuries the ones look good.
Our front 5 will likely be fairly good once they get used to each other, but what happens when they get tired midway thru the 3rd and into the 4th qtr.
I guess we have Strickland, Taylor-Whit., & maybe Harris to rotate

I just don’t get it.
I believe we have 23 OLs on the roster, and it looks like only 7 or 8 may be game ready. Going into the season with 7-8 rotatable OLs is not very practical.
Has anyone seen articles or heard anything about our other OLs stepping up?
I see articles on good camp surprises, but none appear to be OLs.

The starting 5 should be fine. It’s depth that’s a major concern. The depth is basically a backup from A&M and a bunch of other guys who have zero in-game experience. As bad as that is, think about if we wouldn’t have been as successful in the portal…
