Does anyone honestly expect anything to get better under this staff

I see no reason why this staff should be retained after this season. There won't be any improvement in 2024, and there won't be any improvement in 2025

Might as well just get to it now instead of letting this program fall further and further into the abyss
Are you going to help pay for it? We would have to write several big checks to make it happen.

I agree with you, but all I can give is my two cents.

Nope. Briles will continue to call dumb plays and not understand how to adjust. Sonny will continue to clap on the sidelines unless he wants to scream at the refs for something. So nothing changes there. Not sure about Avalos yet, but 4 games in and he does not seem to be able to adjust midgame. So not holding my breath.

I think everybody agrees, the national championship year was fantastic, we could’ve easily lost four games. We could have gone 8-4 with an opportunity to build. We caught every break and went to the national championship and beat a very good Michigan Michigan team. We now basically are going to lose to two AAC opponents in a row. Yes they are not in that conference anymore but still..

We did not take advantage of any good things that happened, we are a portal team that takes leftovers that people don’t necessarily want. I’m not saying we don’t have talent, but at the moment it doesn’t look like we’ve got dudes. I think this is what we should expect, battling against the Cincinnati’s Houston and SMU of the world. Not sure how it changes.

I mean you don't get that far without you coach doing a lot of things right. However, unless he ever figures out the bend and don't break 3 man front is garbage then his career won't last much longer.
He had a good year; it was a magical run. It will buy him at least another year with ADJD, who won't be firing him this year even if we go winless from here. This time next year we'll be right back exactly here regretting that we wasted a year and delayed the rebuild under his eventual successor. I'd try to hire GJ Kinne right now.

Evidence is stacking up to suggest that Sonny didn't have as much to do with that as we may have thought at the time.
Hell, I never thought he did. Basically felt he allowed for a bit of a more calmer and stress free atmosphere to allow a little fun for once and stayed out of the players and the OC’s way.

But I was HOPING he had a little more to him than this. EVERYONE that liked the hire kept saying he just needed better athletes at his stops to showcase his true coaching ability. Well good lord, we’re seeing his true ability this season for sure.

This. It is beyond frustrating that we apparently gained zero positive momentum from that run and if we did actually do so, it either isn’t visible or this staff has ALREADY thrown it out the window.

Yep. I wanted to believe. Clearly he rode his luck in 2022 but seemed a sensible head and good CEO. Last year was a disaster but you could understand how hard it was to lose those eight NFL draft picks. I don't know how many times I wrote before the season that this year would tell us what kind of coach we have. Well, behold!

Why would anyone pay money to watch this atrocity of a football team and a head coach that is qualified to coach maybe a high school team

How about recruiting? I'm certain that I could have created a better recruiting strategy. Go after Iowa, Connecticut, California players after the success we had with players from those states. T Fidone a TE from Nebraska was in Max Duggans backyard. No attempt to heavily target. Fidone is in wrong scheme at Nebraska. Would have fit right in Wiley's wheelhouse.

Hire players from the 2014 Peach Bowl team and 2010 Rose bowl team to recruit Alpha Dogs because those dudes were dogs.
