DMN: TCU key spring issue: Will offensive coordinator Kendal Briles maintain Frogs’ success?

With spring practice underway, Kendal Briles is starting to make an impact in his new role as TCU’s offensive coordinator. Succeeding Garrett Riley, the 2022 Broyles Award winner as college football’s top assistant coach, Briles has big shoes to fill.
Riley was an instrumental factor in TCU’s College Football Playoff run, coaching Max Duggan to a near-Heisman season many thought was impossible. Duggan tossed 32 touchdowns, completed 64% of his passes and led the Horned Frogs to newfound levels of success.
Riley, the brother of USC head coach Lincoln Riley, was hired to be Clemson’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on January 13. Riley isn’t the only offensive coordinator with family ties in football as Briles’ father, Art Briles, served as Baylor’s head coach from 2007-16.
