DMN: Key call pushes TCU past Sam Houston State in epic 22-inning, nearly seven hour game

FORT WORTH – It started in May and ended in June and lasted longer than Johnny Manziel’s wait on NFL draft day.
TCU and Sam Houston State kept playing … and playing … and playing baseball some more into the night and early morning in the NCAA Fort Worth regional Saturday, uh, Sunday.
Eventually, after 22 innings and 6 hours, 54 minutes, TCU had a 3-2 win. Boomer White’s line drive single in the top of the 22nd inning scored Keaton Jones with the go-ahead run. White also delivered the game-winning hit Friday in the 11-inning win over Siena.
Riley Ferrell pitched the 22nd for TCU and retired the final two Sam Houston batters with the tying run on second.
