Didn't realize ASU was ranked that high. Thought they were about like Tech. They are ranked about 6 slots away from each other by US News. UA is tied for 103 with about 15 schools and ASU is 117.

That's population, I'm talking TV market.
Wife got her MA at ASU. It catches a lot of flack which makes people think less of it. There is an article in the Phoenix newspaper, a top 10 list of times ASU was made fun of by comedians on TV.Didn't realize ASU was ranked that high. Thought they were about like Tech.

The co-Ed population is above average for hotness and they are all blonde so they are an easy target. They may also have a reputation for liking to party a lot, a lot…a lot.
And just who could the Pac-12 expand with?If you are not the SEC or Big Ten you are likely struggling. The alliance with the Big Ten helps the ACC and Pac, but I still don't think it will hold long term. If the Big Ten is going to expand again it will likely continue East. I think they could go after a school or two that solidifies the NYC and Boston markets. I also think UVA, UNC, and Duke are candidates along with Notre Lame. The only western schools I could see the Big Ten considering would be Mizzou and KU. They won't raid the Pac unless we move to a 2 power conference structure. I still think the Pac 12 expands sooner than later. There aren't a ton of schools that make sense especially with UT and OU out of the picture.

Kinda nuts that Fort Worth is almost twice the size of Atlanta, and that San Antonio has almost 3x the population.
Those numbers reflect only the cities' and their political boundaries. There's much more to a metro area and its eyeballs when evaluating a TV market.Kinda nuts that Fort Worth is almost twice the size of Atlanta, and that San Antonio has almost 3x the population.
Yes, I get that, but still just a weird fact. Those numbers reflect only the cities' and their political boundaries. There's much more to a metro area and its eyeballs when evaluating a TV market.
In the case of a state flagship school for example: UAz is both Tucson and Phoenix, UVA is not the city of Charlottesville, it's the large population mass of NoVa/DC, Richmond and greater Hampton Roads including Norfolk and VaBeach, UNC is not just Raleigh/Durham but also includes all the Carolina Crescent cities/metros like Greensboro/Win-Salem, and Charlotte.

If you combined Austin-San Antonio the way they do with some of those other metros with similar proximity, we'd have 3.

So, ASU < TECH. That's one.Friend of mine from high school was rejected by UT, A&M, and Texas Tech. He was accepted to ASU and did fine there.
