DALLAS -- Dallas Baptist's season-long pursuit of an NCAA baseball tournament bid was compressed into a nerve-wracking 30 minutes Monday.
In the lower level of the school's striking Pilgrim Chapel, players, coaches and fans monitored ESPN as 15 regional announcements came and went. What seemed like a sure at-large bid for the Division I independent became high anxiety.
Finally, as the TCU Regional bracket was displayed, an emotional release drowned out everything else. The Patriots (37-19) were in the tournament for the first time since 2008. ...
