I am a big horse racing fan and absolutely love this time of the year. A ton of fun. The Derby is one of the great events out there to attend.


I wanted to see who everyone has in the Derby.

The field is pretty wide open. Dialed In and Uncle Mo(who is not racing now) are two great horses, but I think there are several horses that can beat them.

I like Shackleford and Soldat a lot in this race. Hoping I can hit a nice exacta and WPS on these two with Dialed in running third.

I usually bet the horse in purple. If the jockey is wearing purple as well, then it almost always gets a bet.

I also tend to bet on the Early Times Mint Juleps. Yummy!

May not win, but I'll have a fine time regardless...

An old boss of mine advised to skip any Ky. Derby where there were no clear-cut favorites in a big field. His plan, though (which he did and did well at it) was if there were a strong favoirte at 2-1, 3-1, maybe 4-1, he would put down $100 for that horse to show. He usually came away winning $40-$70 from his bookie.
