DeMarcus Hodge DT

TCU along with Arkie & Tenn latest to offer the defensive tackle out of Monroe Neville high school. Other offers include Miss St and ULM.

DeMarcus Hodge 6-1/300/5.1 Monroe, LA (Neville) was a dominating inside presence and helped lead Neville to the state championship.

Mentioned before that while DT depth in Texas is slim this year, Louisiana seems to be having an abundance of really good DTs.

DT is the one position we need to round out this class. Feisty, what do you think our chances are of landing this young man?

2-3 DTs would be amazing. I think another CB is needed along with a QB because nobody knows where Merka will end up.

Anderson has really developed a nice relationship with coaches in the Monroe area and this year especially it may be key to several players (Hodge, Chucky Hunter and Paul Turner). Chances are good, however, think Dooley and Tenn probably the favorites right now. Dooley & staff working hard the stomping grounds from the LaTech days.

His coach thought at one point LSU would offer but they are full at that position unless someone backs out. Will be interesting to see how long Hunter & Hodge hold out for that offer as it may cost them a spot elsewhere if they wait too long.

6' 1", 300lbs.?

Sounds like he's built like the base of a redwood tree.

That is how a DT is built. Want them low to the ground and strong as an ox. Most great DT's are 6'3 or shorter with long arms.

Hopefully, 2 that can see.

Being able to see is definitely a must. Can someone please let the coaching staff know this?

OK, let's figure out who the uninitiated are.

If you've been here less than two days raise your hand.

Watch his videos (team's videos) and he looks taller than 6-1. Big kid for sure and constantly fighting through double & triple tems (they play a 3 man defensive front). He does needs some development but he doesn't seem to take plays off and keeps battling.
