Daily Oklahoman: TCU, West Virginia to receive bigger Big 12 revenue shares
TCU and West Virginia are getting big bumps in Big 12 revenue.
The two freshest members of the Big 12 will see their revenue shares jump from 67 percent to 85 percent this year, according to David Ubben of Fox Sports. The exact amount of the payout is expected to be announced this week at the Big 12's annual spring business meetings in Irving, Texas.
Upon joining the conference in 2012, TCU and West Virginia agreed to staggered revenue payments. Both teams will receive full 100-percent shares following this season.
Last year, Big 12 teams distributed around $23 million each to eight members, whereas TCU and West Virginia only received $14 million each. The Big 12 divided $213 million between its members last year.
On Thursday, the league is expected to announce future sites for numerous championship games and tournaments. The Big 12's annual revenue numbers will be released Friday.
