If we had Boise's votes in the human polls and Boise had ours, we would be at .91 overall or so, while Boise would be at .86 or so.
As such, if Boise gives voters a reason to doubt them(close game vs. Nevada) they are toast, even if they get a large boost from computers with a win.
Plus, Utah State is going to completely offset any gains Boise gets in the computers with Nevada, leaving Boise and TCU in pretty much the same computer position as they are now.
So, was there anyway TCU could have avoided this? Yes, win the Fiesta Bowl, RUTS on every opponent, and hope that Utah does not die at ND. Oops, too late on all three.
