Morris: 2,873 yards 26 TD 8 INT 64.2% cmp 64.2 QBR
Hoover: 2,614 yards 19 TD 8 INT 66.3% cmp 72.4 QBR

Is it fair to still use Morris being picked as starter as a knock against Dykes and co? Kid had bad luck with injuries but I feel like he was better than most of the board gives him credit for.
Did you see the powder puff hit that took him out of the game yesterday?

Can we compare competition level while we are at it?

Morris was not effective when given the chance. Too bad about injuries here. That is how football goes.

Hey Shorty…I’ll give it to you that Morris is putting up some good numbers in his league. But, good numbers in that league versus Hoover’s numbers in the Big XII are two different things.
Don’t forget that Sonny chose Morris over Mad Max…

And don’t forget that Mad Max never won more than 6 games in a season until Dykes coached him. Or put another way, GP couldn’t figure out a way how to win more than 6 games in a season with Mad Max as his QB.

We all saw Max from 2019-2021. I don’t remember anyone having much of a problem, or being surprised at all, when Morris started the Colorado game.

This^^^^^. Love me some Max but he was extremely mediocre under GP. One year with Sonny and he's a Heisman finalist. On the #2 team in the country.

I appreciate Chad Morris’ efforts and ambitions, and I am very happy that he is still healthy enough to play this late in the season.

Like almost everyone, Chad doesn’t have the physical tools to be a successful QB at the B12 level. The universe of people who can play at the Sunbelt level is incredibly small, too, although a little larger than the B12. Chad seems to be surviving and succeeding at University of North Texas.

Good for him and University of North Texas.

It must be great to be so smug and brilliant.
I don’t give a [ Finebaum ] what Gary Patterson did with Max. And, Sonny didn’t do anything with Max except put him second. Max did Max his final year at TCU. He along with a handful of now NFL players put the team on their back and carried it to the NC. Dike simply stayed out of the way and watched it happen. OC Riley put the plan together, and Max and company made it work while Sonny simply stayed out of the way. Sonny did nothing to develope players to move into Max and company’s position. Again, all he did was to put Morris ahead of our now starting QB…who, as it turns out is much better than Sonny’s selection.
I am sure you will have another know it all smug comment, so I await your reply…

And does anyone think we would have won more than six with Morris had he stayed healthy in 2022 much less go to the NC game? Beat Michigan in the semi-final?
Probably not, but we'll never know.

It's such a strange criticism of Dykes. It's not like some QBs that weren't initially starters have never come in and played much better than anticipated. Guys who were coached by HOF coaches. Heck, the greatest QB to ever play the game was passed over the NFL draft 5X+ by every general manager in the game.

I'm just stating facts. And you're proving my point. Your bias against Dykes is embarrassing. So you give him no credit for the good stuff but all the blame for the bad? LOL. You're part of the crew that I talk about, he's got no chance with you short of winning the B12 every year, because he was hired by the guy that fired your guy, plain and simple. And people acting like this average football we're seeing is a new thing that Sonny brought here, 7 of the 10 years prior we failed to win more than seven games. So there's been quite a bit of average football around here, some just had their heads so far up a certain guy's ass they didn't recognize it.

And you crediting Riley would be like me saying Gary didn't win jack [ Finebaum ] without Dick Bumpas. I mean, it's true, but it's still stupid because GP was the head coach. Maybe we should tear down that statue and put one up of Bumpas instead.

Wasn’t he also a backup at Michigan?
