FORT WORTH, Texas — Considering recent road conditions in the Mountain State, perhaps it’s more correct to say No. 6 WVU hit a pothole, rather than a bump in the road, after rising to No. 2 in the country.
Yet what turned out to be a two-game Mountaineer skid doesn’t compare to that of “Big Monday” opponent TCU, which West Virginia faces at 9 p.m. at the Schollmaier Arena.
After winning their first 12 games and rising to No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Horned Frogs have lost five of their last seven games and four of their last five. They entered Monday No. 24, but will undoubtedly tumble completely out after losing 73-68 at Kansas State on Saturday.
Yet before you begin to discount 14-5 TCU, which indeed is tied for last place in the Big 12 at 2-5 in league play, check out the scores of those losses.
